For such a time as this…

Queen-Esther
I love the story in the Bible of Esther

She grew up in poverty. She grew up an orphan raised by her uncle.

She grew up in an oppressive and murderous regime.

And she found herself in just the right place at just the right time to bring change…and she almost missed it.

She almost compromised. She almost gave up. She almost listened to fear. She almost watched opportunity pass her by.

But the bold words of her uncle stopped her and gave her the courage to do what needed to be done.

"But who knows that you have come this royal position for such a time as this?"

She threw her shoulders back. She burned the ships on the beach. She stared death in the face.

She saved her people.

What are you NOT doing that needs to be done?

What has fear kept you from accomplishing?

We need you. We need you now. We need you to bring the stuff that you were born to bring.

You for born for such a time as this.

  • This really matches a conversation Kristine and I had on the way to the gym today. We were talking about calling and the roles we were being called into. I can’t wait to share it with her. Thanks Michael.

  • That’s awesome John. Esther is one of those great heroes of the faith. I love her boldness, her certainty. But even she had to be reminded. It took her uncle Mordecai’s words to give her the “umph” to do what needed to be done. We all need an Uncle Mordecai in our lives!
