Non-Sequitur does it again

I love Wiley Miller’s Non-Sequitur and the satiric humor uses. But this particular strip from November 26 hit pretty close to home. There were a ton of things I never knew before I started working in this industry and this is one of them; many “authors” don’t write their own books. Now, of course, in most industries like business or sports or even entertainment, if you ghost write a book you can count on having your name on the cover right along with the author. But in the Christian media industry this usually isn’t the case. For whatever reason, if you write a book for someone else in this industry, you give up whatever rights you may have on that material when you get paid for that work. Man, are things screwed up or what?

  • That is for sure. That was one of the first things I learned about our workplace. I remember Jim Kerby writing stuff and I would look at the book never did his name appear. Tis a weird thing.
