Perspective is everything

Window Seat Sometimes we just get too buried in what we're doing to be able to see clearly. Our vision has fallen to our ankles and we can no longer even see our surroundings.

Julieanne Kost took this picture. It's part of her "Window Seat" collection of photos taken from solely from airplane windows. She says that what defines good photography is often your point of view. Think about it. This is a beautiful photograph…from 30,000 feet above. But how beautiful would it be at ground level?

In many ways, the same is true of life, work and ministry. The only thing often dividing thrilling fulfillment from mind-numbing drudgery is simply your perspective, your point of view. When we're convinced that there's a point to all this, that there is a reason or a pay off, we'll endure most anything.

How about you? What's your life like today? Are you lost in the swamp? Maybe you need to forget about changing your surroundings and just change your point of view. Take the big picture view. Remember, just because you can't see the purpose, doesn't mean there isn't one. Ultimately, God is the one in control.
